For near ten years I have gone under the alias "Yellow Fiv3" or "Yellow-five". When I chose the name, no lie, I chose it off the back of a Surge bottle. Also I was a very angry child back then, I really liked that people had such a worry and fear about the food coloring yellow #5, so I chose the name. Then I came up with a mascot for the name, a decrepit sacred heart. Everything was built off a negative connotation. My art was always very violent through out a lot of high school and even as I look back on a lot of my pieces you can see this angst filled person. It is no longer a name I am proud of, it gets too many questions about what it means etc.. gets annoying.
It has been a marker to the roller coaster my life was. I admittedly viewed it as a martyred name. It is important to hold on to our past as lesson we can learn from not as a model to our former selves. Considering I no longer think that the name suits the path my life is going to take, I am changing the name, getting a new account, all that fun stuff.
So I will still be doing art, just under a new name.

Stay Tuned

much respect. there's nothing more admirable than changing in a positive way, and rolling with the negative punches.

Change is good for every one, especially positive change. Looking forward to new work.

i'm a fan of your work. the s@#t is hot. we never met or talked, but i read your journal entry. i wanted to say something you might read this or not. some years back i went through the same thing. i use to go by the name 'sketch' for a long while and another name before that. some times the best name to use is the name given to you at birth. it always reminds you of who you are and where you want to go in life.it's a way of stayin true to yourself.
p.s
you may already know this, but as an artist(no matter the medium)your work defines you not always the name.
